Strength & Mobility
Fanny Alavoine
What it's like
Resistance training with kettlebells, bands and bodyweight, combined with dynamic stretching and mobility drills.
You'll load joints through their full range rather than the comfortable middle, which feels unfamiliar at first and is exactly the point.
Challenging but not punishing. Expect coordination drills alongside the strength work, and expect to leave feeling capable rather than destroyed.

Why people practice this?
Injury prevention is the practical reason. Most injuries happen at the edge of a movement, where people are strong in the middle and unsupported at the extremes. This class trains the extremes. Mobility and strength get built together rather than separately, which is the only way either becomes usable. Range you can't control is just looseness. For dancers and athletes it's the complementary work that training schedules never quite make room for. And it shows up quickly in control and power.
Is this for you?
You'll get on with Strength & Mobility if you:
• Dance or train and keep picking up small injuries
• Are strong but stiff, or mobile but weak
• Want functional strength rather than isolated muscle
• Move a lot and want to keep doing so
Not an athlete? Still worth it. The same principles apply to any body that gets used.

Questions people ask
Do I need to be fit?
No. You build the strength by doing the class. Teachers give lighter and heavier options throughout.
Will it help my back?
Often yes, since much of the work supports the spine. It isn't treatment though, so check with a professional if you're in pain.
Can I come injured?
Often yes, but tell your teacher first so they can adjust.
Do I need experience?
No. Most classes are open to all levels and teachers give options.
What should I wear?
Anything you can move in. Classes are barefoot, and props are provided.
Do I need a mat?
No. Mats and props are provided. Bring your own if you prefer.
How do I book?
yourtribes.nl/schedule or through the Fit by Wix app, code NCL5XG. You'll need a pass or card first.
