What it's like

Grounded and expressive. You'll explore smooth transitions, expressive shapes and gentle isolations, spending significant time working on and close to the floor.

The pace allows you to actually feel each movement rather than rush to the next. Choreography builds across the weeks.

The space is deliberately safe and encouraging. There's no pressure to perform and no expectation of what this should look like on you.

Tribes Leiden Dance Course Feminine

Why people practice this?

Body awareness is what builds first. Moving slowly and deliberately through fluid shapes teaches you your own body in a way faster styles skip entirely. Strength comes with it, particularly through the core and shoulders, floorwork is deceptively demanding. But the reason most people keep coming is the confidence. Fully embracing how you move, in a room where nobody is judging, turns out to be quietly transformative.

Is this for you?

You'll get on with Feminine if you:
• Want to reconnect with your body after time away from it
• Like fluid, grounded movement over sharp choreography
• Are curious about floorwork
• Want a room where you can be uninhibited

All levels, genuinely. Plenty of people arrive having never danced and leave surprised at themselves.

Questions people ask

Am I too old?

No. Our beginners groups run from twenties to sixties, and most people are starting from nothing.

Do I have to wear heels?

No. Many people start in trainers or bare feet. Heels are something you add when you're ready.

Can I try first?

Yes, at the Trial Dance Weekend just before each season, €7.50 a class. For drop-in classes, the Trial Week is €19.95.

How do I book a course?

On the website, at yourtribes.nl/courses. Your spot is then secured for the full course.

New to dance?

Yes. Every style has a beginners group, and each course states its level. Email discover@yourtribes.nl if you're unsure.

Coming on my own?

Plenty of people do. No pressure to socialise, connection happens over time.

What should I wear?

Anything you can move in. Classes are barefoot, and props are provided.

How do I book?

yourtribes.nl/schedule or through the Fit by Wix app, code NCL5XG. You'll need a pass or card first.
