When & where to practice
What it's like
Entirely restorative. Myofascial release with balls and props, mobility work through the joints that take the most load, and long-held stretches, three to five minutes in some shapes. There's no strength component and no conditioning. If you're looking for a workout, this isn't it, and that's the point. Expect to be on the floor for most of it, well supported, with time to actually settle into each position.

Why people practice this?
Recovery is where adaptation actually happens, and it's the part almost everyone skips. This class makes it a scheduled hour rather than a good intention.
The practical effect is turnaround. Athletes who take a proper release session mid-week tend to arrive at their next hard session with less residual tightness and fewer of the small niggles that become injuries.
There's a nervous-system argument too. An hour of unhurried, non-competitive movement shifts you out of training mode, which is difficult to do on your own after a hard block.
Is this for you?
You'll get on with Athlete Recovery if you:
• Train or compete and feel it accumulating
• Dance several times a week
• Have a hard session tomorrow and want to arrive fresh
• Find you never make time to stretch properly alone Not an athlete? Still welcome, the class is for anyone whose body works hard, including people who lift, run, or simply move a lot for their job.

Questions people ask
Is this physiotherapy?
No, it's movement teaching rather than treatment. See a physio for anything specific.
Do I need an injury?
No. Most people come to move better, not because something is wrong.
Can I come injured?
Often yes, but tell your teacher first so they can adjust.
Isn't it just stretching?
No. Stretching targets muscle. Yin relaxes it so the load reaches connective tissue.
Do I need experience?
No. Most classes are open to all levels and teachers give options.
Do I need a mat?
No. Mats and props are provided. Bring your own if you prefer.
How do I book?
yourtribes.nl/schedule or through the Fit by Wix app, code NCL5XG. You'll need a pass or card first.
