What it's like
Continuous sequences of poses, linked by breath, at a moderate pace. You'll move through standing shapes, balances and floor work, usually building towards a peak before winding down. The pace varies by teacher and by day. Some classes are brisker, some more spacious. All of them ask you to keep moving rather than hold. Modifications are offered throughout, so the same class works whether it's your first or your thousandth.

Why people practice this?
Breath is what separates vinyasa from stretching. Linking each movement to an inhale or exhale gives the mind a single thing to follow, and about twenty minutes in, most people find the internal chatter has quietened without them trying. Physically it's well balanced, strength, flexibility and cardiovascular work in one hour, without specialising in any of them. It's also the most transferable practice we teach. Learn vinyasa and almost every other yoga class on the schedule becomes readable.
Is this for you?
You'll get on with Vinyasa Flow if you:
• Want one class that covers most bases
• Think better when your body is occupied
• Like a rhythm to follow rather than long holds
• Are new to yoga and don't know where to start Complete beginner? This is the one to start with. Arrive a few minutes early and tell the teacher. They'll keep an eye on you.
