Mild Flow

Lisa Kaley-Isley

What it's like

A graceful sequence of poses linked to breath, held a little longer and transitioned a little slower than in a standard flow. The teacher will spend time drawing attention to what's happening internally, how a movement changes your breathing, where the effort actually sits, rather than pushing you towards a harder shape. Expect to be working, but never rushed, and to finish feeling restored rather than wrung out.

Why people practice this?

It teaches you to pay attention. Moving gently enough to register subtle sensation is a skill, and it's the one that makes every other class safer and more useful.

The accessibility is genuine rather than marketing. Nothing here requires strength you don't have or flexibility you haven't built.

People also notice the mood effect. A mild practice shifts energy without spending it, so you leave better than you came in rather than emptied out.

Is this for you?

You'll get on with Mild Flow if you:
• Are new to yoga and want somewhere kind to begin
• Are returning after time off, illness or injury
• Want movement without intensity
• Have a body that doesn't love fast transitions

Experienced? Don't dismiss it. Slow reveals things that fast hides.
